maybe. just maybe.

I think that maybe I have spotted a nail growing on Sawyer's thumb. Maybe. Is it possible? I can' t tell if it is just part of the healing process, or if a nail has started to emerge. It has been almost 3 weeks since the accident. There is a white/clear hard something just above the cuticle where a nail would be. It is hard to tell because of the scabs and the yucky stuff that is still there. It could just be something else. Just wanted you to know. And most of all, thanks for your prayers.

pull ups. box #1

I can' t believe this, but I am potty training Sawyer. Yes, potty training my 20 month old. Since going on the potty last week, he has continued to use it. Even having a b.m. on it. He knows exactly what to do and we haven't spent hours on the potty trying to get him to go! He just does it. For example, yesterday I was filling the tub for the kids. While it was filling up, I had Sawyer sit on the potty. He tried to go, but nothing was happening. So, he stood next to the tub completely naked waiting for the water.. I turned around to put his clothes in the laundry and when I turned back around, he was sitting on the potty. He went! All by himself! So, he feels the urge, holds it, and sits on the potty. After the bath, he sat on it at least 10 times trying to go. And he managed to get something out almost every time! ha ha. Tonight, his diaper was nearly dry after about an hour. So, I took it off, and he sat on the potty and he went. Just like that. Easy as pie. He even knows to tuck his little guy under the guard. It is so cute. After the bath I put on a pull up. About 30 minutes later, I asked him to go potty. His pull up was dry and he sat on the potty and went. Yahoo! We are on our way. I still can't believe this is true. Sydney was 3 and he is not yet 2. Is this too good to be true?

doughnuts anyone?

We love doughnuts in our family. Especially Tim Horton's Timbits and Dawn's Donuts. Sometimes we get Krispy Kreme. Daddy treated us to some on Monday morning. Yummy. Every once in a while he does a saturday run to Tim Horton's and I get a cafe mocha too. Love this in the fall and winter. Wait, don't I want to lose 5 pounds? :)

Spending the day with grandpa

We all went over to Grandpa Little's house to spend some time with him. We had a great visit. I can't remember the last time we had a meal at my grandparents house. It's been too long! After eating we went for a ride on the pontoon. Grandpa had to stay behind while we went on the boat. It made me sad that he can't go anymore. He sat at the top of the hill as we left. Sure wish he could have enjoyed it too. I have many happy memories of time spent on the river at grandma and grandpa's.
(sorry aunt sherry, i missed getting your picture!)

farmers market

We finally made it to the new Farmer's Market in Elkhart. We had a great time taking it all in. Sydney enjoyed petting the animals and milking the cow. I enjoyed the booths with the lotions and the tasty food. Of course our favorite stop is at the Sweet Street Caramel and Coffee Cafe. Scrumptious. I brought home some yummy House Blend coffee. Barry, mom, and I enjoyed the caramel corn while the kids enjoyed a chocolate dipped pretzel. Oh yah, Barry ate almost an entire half pound of delicious malt balls. You do a great job Aunt Jill and Uncle Dan. I just wish that we could go more often!

Amelia and Sydney

When we were in Indiana over the weekend we helped babysit for Amelia while Brad and Jenny went out for their anniversary. Sydney really enjoyed this. She loves her baby cousins. Syd made Amelia laugh, held her and even fed her a bottle. This was a huge highlight for her! Amelia is almost 5 months now.
