It's been a few weeks since we baked these yummy hot pretzels! I am behind on my blogging i guess! Sydney and I decided that they sounded good one day and wanted to get some from the mall. Unfortunately, we were unable to go because Sawyer needed a nap. So, we decided to make them ourselves! I looked up a recipe on my favorite site, allrecipes.com. They didn't seem too hard and sounded delicious! So, we got started. First, we put the dough hook on the kitchen aid. Then, we measured out the flour and dry ingredients. All the while the yeast got all foamy and ready. Next, we mixed it all together. Oh, and we gave the mixer a little love too.
After the mixing was complete, we let the dough rise until it was doubled in size. Then, we shaped it into a long loaf so that it could be cut it into 12 equal pieces. Finally, we rolled them out, shaped them, dunked them in soda water and baked them. Yeah, it is that easy! We had a lot of fun doing this together. We even made two batches! (that is 24 pretzels...for those of you who aren't following this jibber jabber.)
Then, we pulled these warm, soft, yummy, nicely browned pretzels from the oven and buttered them. I used my newest kitchen tool to spread the warm butter. My old yucky brush had long since retired and I greatly needed a silicone one that wouldn't shed or retain smells. I am greatly enjoying it. :)

These pretzels were DELICIOUS! oh, so good. I know they don't really resemble pretzels much in this picture. This batch turned out fat and plump. The second batch I rolled much thinner, but they didn't taste as good! This batch was the most delicious. My mouth is watering just thinking of them...
