Goodbye summer, hello autumn

On our last day of summer we took a trip to the apple orchard. We had a good time picking tiny pumpkins, buying apple cider, apples, and donuts. It was a beautiful day. We hope to go several more times this fall. On the way home we stopped at a roadside market to get corn stalks and a couple larger pumpkins. They are all arranged on bales of hay! I love the fall!

It makes me think of:

*fresh baked bread

*baked apples

*apple pie

*grandma's apple pie squares (oh, so good!)

*oatmeal cookies

*squash

*bright orange sun contrasting with the long shadows and deep green foliage in the early evening (i love this)

*cool, crisp air

*campfires

*soup

*hot chocolate

*i could go on and on!!!
