Here we are at the Statue of Liberty and then at Ellis Island. I was so excited for this day to come! As a teacher, I have read many books to my students about immigration and going through Ellis Island. This day was especially meaningful to me because my great-grandparents passed through Ellis Island and became citizens of the USA. I greatly enjoyed seeing these sights with my own eyes instead of just in books. I checked another thing off my lifetime to-do list.
