Baby Shower

Over the weekend we went to Jenny's baby shower. There was great food, lots of fellowship with family, and great gifts! The baby is all set, they just need to wait for it's arrival! After the shower, Jenny said that she worked on getting everything set up. The stroller, the car seat, and the linens went into the washing machine! Ohhhhh, so much fun. I remember it so well. I loved setting up the nursery. I can' t believe that it has already been four years since my showers for Sydney. Time just goes so fast!

pregnancy

Here are the two mommies to be! Jennifer is due with her first baby on April 13th and does not know what she is having. She is positive it is a boy. Beth is due May 26th with her fourth and is having a girl (she has 3 boys)!!! It was neat to see them together with their pregnant bellies. Next time we see them together, they will have their babies in their arms! I will have to post another picture in a few months.
We are looking forward to the new babies! Sydney can't wait to have a girl cousin to play with!

Happy Birthday Grandpa

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!! We hope you had a great day! Can't wait to celebrate with you....

sunrise on Mt. Haleakala

We woke up early and went to see the sunrise on Mt. Haleakala. We were at about 10,000 ft and above the clouds. So, we were able to see the sunrise above the clouds. It was beautiful and peaceful! It was quite chilly up there-about 40 degrees. The drive up the mountain was interesting! The windy road leads you to the highest elevation in the shortest distance in the world! We were right on the edge most of the time with little bordering you from going over. And people actually bike down it! We drove. We had a pregnant woman with us and Barry was still recovering from the stomach flu! We were able to stop wherever we wanted too. After this refreshing time, we rushed back to the hotel for our yummy breakfast buffet.

Baldwin Beach

This was one of the best beaches we saw in Maui. We went in the evening. There was a beautiful mist over the water. It was just beautiful. Unforgettable.

Warren and Annabelles

We went to Warren and Annabelles in Lahaina. It was a great show. First, we sat in the parlor eating appetizers. Then, we went into the theater to watch the show. We laughed and laughed and were amazed at his tricks.

Humpback Whale watching in Maui

This was one of my favorite things that we did in Maui. It was fascinating to watch the whales. There were so many of them that we had to keep looking from side to side to see them. I never caught a full breech on camera though. That was a goal of mine. :) It is amazing to be so close to such a big animal. I could have got right back on the next whale watch and watched them for another two hours! Thankfully we could watch them from the beach and our hotel, driving in the car along the coast, and just walking downtown Lahaina. This is a must for anyone going to Maui in the winter!

The PVBs

I've got it. Got it bad. A case of the Post Vacation Blues- PVB. Here we are sightseeing. Barry is in the distance to the left. This was one of my favorite sights. The water was unbelievable. The waves were crashing into the black rock, splashing white water up over the cliffs. Ahhhhh! I want to go back! :) I miss the gorgeous weather, the beautiful sights, the carefree feeling, and the fun. I have lots more to share, so keep checking back!

it was bliss....

I almost deleted this picture. Yet, when I look at it, it makes me remember all the times that we laughed on this trip. It feels so great to get away, relax, have fun, and just laugh until your sides hurt. Ahh, vacation. There's just nothing like it. And, when it is Maui, Hawaii-there's really nothing like it! If you are wondering....this was taken on Mt. Haleakala after we had watched the sunrise. Unforgettable. I will post more about that by itself. Posted by Picasa

we're back!

We just went on the best trip in our lives. Can't wait to share all the pictures! Posted by Picasa

Precious...

Sorry Ava, you look a little left out...no hard feelings. Sydney adores you.
Look at these two. Ava is about 4 months older than Sawyer. So cute together. Posted by Picasa

They've returned!

We had lots of fun hanging out the Popovits family tonight since they are visiting in Michigan this week. Thanks so much for taking the time to see us. It was great to catch up and see that precious little girl of yours. It is a joy to see our kids playing. Wow, that kinda just hit me. Our kids were playing-together! It is amazing. Still seems like we should all be just hanging out at the condo, Barry and I newlyweds and you guys just kids. :) Okay, we were all just kids. Time flies.

(Just took a look at your blog. Wow, those photos in the park were terrific! You will cherish those. Loved the newest entries...especially the one of Matt napping! Check it out at: www.mlpopovits.com

His other love....Cereal

Can't keep him out of the cereal in the pantry. Even after a full course meal, he finds his way to the cereal if the pantry is open. He loves to munch on it (and pour it out of the bag) if he gets the chance. I bought him special bowls to hold the cereal and he only has to put his fingers in and grab some out. But, he found that he can hold the bowl just right so that when he thrusts his arm back and forth the cereal flies everywhere. Ahhhh.... Posted by Picasa

just had to post a picture by itself....

The boy LOVES water!

This morning I decided to mop my filthy floor. Of course Sawyer had to get involved. He is attracted to any and all water. He is not picky. He thinks toilets were invented to be his own personal water tables. Yes, that is right, he even loves the water in toilets. UGH! So, while I was mopping, Sawyer decided to dip his fingers in the bucket. But, he couldn't stop at that. His love for water led him deeper into temptation and he started to dip both hands in, which led to a little splash, which led to all of the above. Did you notice he even took a break in his play to lay down in it? He was having so much fun and I just couldn't stop him. I had to take advantage of it and take pictures. I felt a little guilty since the water did have some murphy's soap in it. He went right to the bath though and we washed it all off. He was SOAKED! He loves the bath even more, especially while the water is running. I just can't wait till summer and we can spend lots of time in the little wading pool in the backyard. Summer come quick!!! Posted by Picasa

Sydney's Scrapbook....

Aunt Beth gave Sydney a scrapbook for Christmas. It is about a 5 x 5 size at most. She decorated the cover with foam stickers and it looks really cute.
Well, Aunt Laura just sent some adorable stickers in the mail today. So, I suggested we scrapbook with them. I placed the pictures on the page for Sydney and then she embellished the pages with her stickers. Didn't she do a great job???

a new way to diet....

Have any of you ever heard that brushing your teeth is a good way to curb cravings? Supposedly if you brush your teeth, it makes you not want to eat. Well, I think it may be true!

Sydney as she exits the bathroom: "I am never going to eat again!"
me: "Oh, really? Why?"
Sydney: "Because...I just brushed my teeth."

***30 seconds later***

Sydney: "I want some candy!"

Okay, so maybe it works for just a few seconds!

That wraps it up!

Sawyer fell asleep after being bundled up in his stroller. After a fun afternoon and some yummy frankenmuth fudge, we headed home. Posted by Picasa

The timed ice carving contest....

There were many people gathered in this area competing against time and each other. This particular sculpture caught my eye. It is of a gymnast. We didn't stick around to see who one. The process was fascinating. There were all sorts of saws, water bottles, dry ice, torches, etc. that helped shape the ice into objects.
