We decided to head over to the Port Huron and eat by the lake. It was another gorgeous summer day and we took advantage of it!
We made it easy by stopping by subway for our food. $5 footlongs...can't beat it.

Sydney loves the sweet onion dressing on her sandwiches. It really is quite good. 1 Turkey footlong for the kiddos.

Make that a subway club for the adults. Barry's favorite. With some "saucy" doritos on the side.
After a peaceful dinner by the water, some bubble machine blowing, and one minor mishap of Sawyer blowing bubbles all over a casual onlooker, we took off for the sidewalk that stretches far into the distance beyond the bridge. We walked all the way to the bridge, stopped, rested, took off a helmet...
....and into the river it fell. We had tears, frustration, and a quiet walk all the way back as we followed that helmet drifting further and further away. Gone is the My Little Pony helmet that was dearly loved by Syd. She was UpSeT. Even though it was too small and needed to be replaced, it hurt to see that helmet drifting to some unknown place.
Promises were made to take her for a new one. Sawyer also since he was wearing Syd's other one because his was too small! :) After we cheered up, we went for ice cream and stumbled upon the Blue Water Festival. After ice cream we decided we needed more sugar and hunted down the lemon shake up stand. Who can resist? I LOVE days like this one.
